Christmas Party prep
With all the fabulous festive food, and the chance to catch up with friends and family, Christmas is definitely about indulging! But whilst you’re busy thinking about everything else that Christmas entails don’t forget to indulge in yourself too. And when best to do this than in preparation for the big Christmas party!
The key to a successful, stress free, Christmas party lies in the preparation, so we’ve pulled together a few hot tips to help you dazzle this Christmas!
Dress to Impress!
Christmas parties are supposed to be fun, so take the stress out of the preparation by taking the time to shop for your outfit in advance. If you’re super-efficient, finding dresses in the sales earlier in the year can not only help save pennies, but can also help avoid being seen in the same outfit as someone else! You can then bring them bang up to date with the season’s hottest shoes and accessories. If you’re not quite that organized, try to start looking for your perfect party outfit at least a month in advance. If you leave it until the weekend before, the chances of finding the perfect dress, and shoes, in your size are next to impossible!
Try on your outfit, with all the accessories before the big night. You don’t want to be hours away from the party to find out that you haven’t got the right underwear to go with your dress!
Body Beautiful!
Once you’ve got the outfit and accessories sorted, it’s time to start paying attention to yourself. As Christmas nears we start to indulge in more of the finer foods and drinks, so for fresh, radiant looking skin try to drink plenty of water to help flush any toxins through your body.
If your skin needs a boost of fake tan be sure to exfoliate and apply your tan in advance. Don’t forget to moisturise dry areas thoroughly before applying and never apply fake tan straight out of a hot shower or after shaving – you need to wait until your pores are closed to avoid any build up of colour settling in them leaving you with an unattractive spotty result.
If you’ve been out in the sun, consuming alcohol or spending too much time in office air-conditioning your skin may be dry and flaky. When you’ve invested money in the perfect dress you don’t want to ruin the look with dry skin, so be sure to exfoliate arms and legs for fresh, vibrant looking skin. Top this off with a rich body moisturiser for irresistibly smooth skin and perfect party pins!
The Finishing Touch!
Now that your body is feeling fabulous it’s time to move onto the face. With the outfit already chosen you should have a good idea about the look you want to create. Whether you go for subtlety or for impact there are two rules that need to be obeyed…
1. Never go for both heavy eye make up and heavy lip make up, for a more sophisticated look chose one or the other!
2. It’s always wise to keep a clear head when applying make up, so save the wine until you’ve finished getting ready; you don’t want to end up looking like coco the clown!
So before you shimmy into the party season take a moment to plan your preparation, and remember, with all the Christmas stress it’s important to find the time to indulge yourself. Give yourself the time to follow some of our tips and have the confidence to sparkle this Christmas!
